Dr. Patrick Townsend was born and raised in New Jersey until venturing north to Massachusetts to attend Boston College. After receiving degrees in Biology and Theology, Dr. Townsend earned his dental doctorate from Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in Glendale, Arizona. After dental school, Dr. Townsend completed a general practice residency program at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT, specializing in emergency and restorative care. This hospital-based training program trained Dr. Townsend to care for patients with complex medical histories and manage a wide array of critical emergency cases.
Dr. Townsend listens to his patients and prioritizes their concerns while delivering excellent care with the latest methods and techniques. Dr. Townsend devotes hundreds of hours to continuing education courses each year to remain at the forefront of the advancing dental technologies. In addition to traditional dentistry, Dr. Townsend is specially trained in mandibular advancement devices for the treatment of snoring and sleep apnea, dental implant therapy, and using nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for patients who experience dental anxiety or would like some help relaxing in the chair. Dr. Townsend is a current member of the American Dental Association, the Massachusetts Dental Society, and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. He is a certified provider of Invisalign Clear Aligner Therapy, guided dental implant surgery, and of "one visit" porcelain CEREC restorations.
After hours, Dr. Townsend loves traveling and exploring New England and beyond with his wife, Angela, and their young daughter, Stella. Dr. Townsend also loves following soccer, basketball, fishing, and snowboarding.
