Dr. Paul Groipen was born in Newton, MA. He attended college in Ohio to gain some independence from his family, but he loved Boston and returned home after graduation. He partnered with Dr. Rick Bankhead, his lifelong friend he met at OSU, to open Drs. Bankhead and Groipen. In 2018, Dr. Bankhead and Dr. Groipen sold the practice to Dr. Stuart MacDonald. Dr. Groipen loves dentistry and his patients, and has no current plans to retire.
For fun. Dr. Groipen loves to travel. His favorite trips were visits to Antarctica in 2010 and the Galapagos Islands in 2013. When he's home, he loves to go to the theater and the symphony. Dr. Groipen has three grandchildren, PIper, Bennett, and Oakley that he loves spending time with. He used his COVID "free time " to teach himself piano. So far he can rock "Baby Shark." He still has lots to learn but at least he knows the classics!
Dr. Groipen is a current member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Massachusetts Dental Society. He is a certified provider of porcelain CEREC restorations.
